In 2015, Ardale acquired unconditionally the old schoolhouse in Dun Laoghaire in an off-market transaction. The site is located in one of the most affluent areas in South Dublin, ideally located midway between the twin focal points of the Main Street and Harbour Area. After extensive engagement with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Council a successful planning grant was received.
This was appealed but the decision was upheld by An Bord Pleanala on 31st October 2017. The final grant allowed for 52 quality apartments with ground floor commercial and amenity space. The site was subsequently successfully sold to Bartra.
